No details about the transaction have been unveiled yet. Perceptive Pixel usually handles production of behemoths such as 82 inch multitouch displays, able to respond to both stylus and finger input. The screens are meant for corporate/education and prices go to around $80k. Microsoft had to pay too much to the company for their panels and decided it’s cheaper to buy them. Fair, right? Well, as long as they don’t dismember the enterprise and only keep the technology, it’s all safe.

I wonder if the device initially known as Surface will be rebranded now that the name has gone to the Microsoft tablet…
