Fin: Rohildev Nattukallingal’s device controls smartphones & TV remote through your palm

Well, get ready for the next wave of people acting strange publicly, gesturing and waving their fingers in your face, with colourful rings around their thumbs. Because they're coming, and those rings are the newest addition to the "internet of things" — wearable technology that promises to change the world. The rings, called Fins, make your entire palm a gesture interface with which you can control multiple connected devices.

Wearable technology is the new cool and everyone knows about Google glasses and Pebble watches. But an Indian innovator may beat all the rest by being the first to actually launch his wearable device, the Fin, a tiny piece of hardware that you can wear on your thumb, which is capable of recognizing each segment of your finger biometrically and converts your palm into a numeric keypad. Why, if Rohildev Nattukallingal and

his team have their way, you may never need to touch your phone again to make a call! Or a television remote or any home automation device. It's the world at your fingertips — literally.Fin reads different gestures from your palm and its corresponding values control connected devices. So, for example, if you want to turn your phone's volume down, all you need to do is swipe your thumb down your index finger. Want to turn it back up? Just swipe back up across the same finger. Want to skip the current track? Swipe your thumb across the palm of the opposite hand. You get the general idea.
Another really interesting thing about this innovation is the manner in which Nattukallingal found funding. His RHL Vision is one of the rare Indian companies that have used crowdfunding, using the Indiegogo platform. Crowdfunding is the collective effort of individuals who network and pool their money, usually via the internet, to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations.

Motorola launches Moto X in India at Rs 23,999

Motorola has launched its flagship smartphone, Moto X, in the Indian market. Just like Moto G, the new smartphone will be available in India only via e-commerce website Flipkart.

The company is offering the Moto X variant with plastic back panel at Rs 23,999; Motorola is offering back panels in five colours, namely black, white, turquoise, blue and red. The models with wood finish (walnut and teak) have been priced at Rs 25,999.

Magnus Ahlqvist, GM of EMEA and Asia Pacific, Motorola Mobility, commented on the launch, "We are very excited about Motorola in the Indian market and we want to bring strong propositions that completely change mobile experience for the buyers. Moto X has been very well received across markets and would continue to add to Motorola's momentum in India

I Phone 6c release date, rumours and leaked images: stunning new concept video sparks imagination

When is the next iPhone 5c coming out? It's likely that Apple is considering a new version of its cheaper iPhone, which could be called the iPhone 6c. Here, we'll be bringing you all of the latest iPhone 6c release date speculation, rumours about the new features the iPhone 6c could have and iPhone 6c leaked images and mockups from around the web.
Updated 5 March 2014 with a new, super-cool concept image and video by designer Joseph Farahi, which you can see below.
There's so much talk about the iPhone 6 already, but not so much about the iPhone 6c, which is what we're calling the successor to Apple's iPhone 5c, the iPhone 5s's (marginally) cheaper and (massively) more colourful sibling. We think it seems inevitable that the iPhone 6c is going to happen, though, following Apple CEO Tim Cook's comments on the success of the iPhone 5s during an earnings call in January, the fate of the iPhone 5c is in question.
What's the next step for Apple's 'c' series iPhones? Will Apple bring new colours for the iPhone 6c? Will it get new features such as a camera upgrade, a processor boost or a design tweak? Or will Apple ditch the 'c' series already? Here, we discuss the rumours. We'll update this article as soon as we find out more about the iPhone 6c, so check back regularly for the latest information.

iPhone 6c release date

There's widespread debate about the future of the iPhone 5c following Apple's 27 January financial call for the first quarter of 2014. During the call, Tim Cook effectively acknowledged that the sales of the iPhone 5c were not as high as expected. "It was the first time we'd ever run that particular play before, and demand percentage turned out to be different than we thought. We sold more 5S than we expected," Cook said, tacitly admitting that the iPhone 5c under-performed.
When asked about the pricing strategy of the iPhone 5c, Cook said: "If we decide it's in our best interests to make a change then we will make one. We're willing to make any product that's a great product."
Combined, these comments sparked speculation that Apple is considering a price drop for its next iPhone 5c, or alternatively, that its considering ditching the iPhone 5c already.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said: "Demand has not been good. [Apple] will discount it and use that as a lever to improve unit growth. I don't think they will get rid of it completely."
However, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek thinks the iPhone 5c has a short life-span ahead of it. "I would expect them to cancel the product after the iPhone 6," he said. "Price cuts are not what Apple does. They build products that they are passionate about and then charge accordingly."
We think it's also possible that Apple will decide not to update the iPhone 5c in 2014, but rather wait until 2015 when it releases what will presumably be called the iPhone 6s. That way, when the iPhone 6 arrives later this year, the iPhone 5s would be reduced in price and the iPhone 5c even more so.
